Student Award System

The awards system of Coláiste Chiaráin Community School reflects the school’s ethos in promoting  the highest standards of learning and achievements for students of all level of ability. The school has a policy of rewarding students for achievement and excellence within subject areas which supplements positive reinforcement by teachers in the classroom.

 

Student of the Year (Male & Female)

Teachers nominate outstanding students for their progress and achievements over the school year.

Sports Person of the Year (Male & Female)

This award is made by the sports department, based on a student's commitment, willingness to help and sporting achievements throughout the school year.

Diogras (Male & Female)

This is awarded in each year group to recognise a student’s diligence and commitment

Arts & Literature (Male & Female)

This award recognises outstanding achievement in any area of the arts and literature

Subject Awards

These awards are made to students at a special awards morning for 6th Years. It usually takes place a couple of days before their graduation.

Overall Student of the Year, Spirit of Colaiste Chiarain and Outstanding Sports Achievement

These awards are presented to 6th Year students on Graduation Night. In addition to being presented with a perpetual trophy each recipient is presented with a trophy that they can retain.
