Roll Cameras!

How fitting that on Oscar weekend a bit of Hollywood razzle-dazzle should descend on Coláiste Chiaráin today. Áine Doyle & Sarah Beelan from the UCD Film Society gave a most enlightening workshop in the library on the art of film-making.

Our budding directors & thespians have been set the task of writing, shooting and editing a short movie using mobile phones and home computers. Appropriately, given the year that’s in it, the theme is ‘rebellion/freedom’.

Áine and Sarah have very generously agreed to return to help the groups edit their films before their final submission. Not only that, but the pair have invited the TYs to UCD to have their work shown on the big screen in the university’s purpose-built cinema with complimentary pizza and popcorn to boot!

Could there be a future Saoirse Ronan or Lenny Abrahamson in our midst?!
