2nd Year art students enjoyed a trip to The National Gallery and The Natural History Museum on Friday. We visited the Kathe Kollwitz Exhibition at The National Gallery first. Kathe Kollwitz was a German Expressionist artist. She produced drawings, etchings and woodcuts focusing on the human suffering caused by war and poverty. We also saw the newly refurbished Dargan Wing, and the roofed courtyard where the amazing Joseph Walsh sculpture stands.
After the National Gallery we travelled the short distance to the Natural History Museum where the students sketched a whole variety of animals, birds and insects.
