Trip to Berlin and Krakow

Over the Halloween break twenty-nine students and four teachers explored the highlights of Berlin and Krakow. In Berlin the students visited the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the site of the Nazi book burnings, Hitler's Bunker, the DHM museum, the Topography of terror museum, Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin wall.Following on the students proceeded to Krakow with its medieval architecture encompassing a mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles. The students visited Auschwitz concentration camp, the Salt Mines and finished up with a four hour walking tour of this city with its hidden treasures; St Mary's Cathedral, Clothe Hall, the old town and Wawel Castle. Despite the busy itinerary there was great fun had by all, new friendships and plenty of great memories.
